Samsung and Huawei may be eyeing the future with each of them releasing innovative folding smartphones namely Galaxy Fold and Mate X. However, despite their efforts to enter the folding smartphone market , their work in creating traditional smartphones has not yet ended.
In 2019, Samsung comes with their latest flagship , the S10 Plus, while Huawei departs with the P30 Pro as their flagship product. However, from the two interesting flagships created by these two big name brands , which one is the best?
Samsung is not playing in celebrating the tenth anniversary of the Galaxy S, by presenting top-class specifications on the Galaxy S10 Plus. That includes, Snapdragon 855, 8 / 12GB RAM, 128 / 512GB / 1TB internal storage and a 4,200mAh battery with 15W fast charging .
Meanwhile in the rival camp , the P30 Pro, the specifications include Kirin 980, 8GB RAM, 128/256 / 512GB internal storage and 4,200mAh battery with 40W Supercharge .
When compared, the Galaxy S10 Plus has proven to be far superior to wilder chipsets (especially for gaming ), wider RAM options and more flexible internal storage capacity options.
The design carried by the Galaxy S10 Plus is an improvement based on the Infinity-style that was once popularized by the Galaxy S8. The curvature of the Galaxy S10 Plus is made smoother, with more ‘expensive’ accents being played so that it differs from previous S series smartphones , the Galaxy S10 Plus looks much more premium .
For the P30 Pro, the all-glass design is still maintained with more styles and curved screen edges like Mate 20 Pro. Broadly speaking, P30 Pro truly represents the evolution of the design of its ‘younger sibling’, P20 Pro.
With the Galaxy S10 Plus, Samsung looks unique by not using thick notches or bezels at the top of the screen. Instead, Samsung chose to implement punch-holes into the 6.4-inch Super AMOLED screen QHD + resolution owned by the Galaxy S10 Plus. This makes the Galaxy S10 Plus look more ‘creative’ than most flagship .
While the P30 Pro, carrying a slightly larger screen than the Galaxy S10 Plus with 6.47 inches, but at a 2.340 x 1.080 lower resolution. In addition, the P30 Pro also still maintains a notch like its predecessor. However, the notch that was applied this time, was made in the style of water droplets that looked more minimalist.

The Galaxy S10 Plus comes in a configuration of three rear cameras, each of which is a dual-pixel (12MP), ultrawide (16MP) and telephoto (12MP) camera , which is packed with exceptional tweak technology from Snapdragon 855 for more comprehensive image quality. For selfie cameras , there are two with a resolution of 10MP and 8MP.
Just like the Galaxy S10 Plus, the P30 Pro also uses a configuration of three rear cameras which include the main censor (40MP), ultrawide (20MP) and periscope (8MP) capable of delivering 5x optical zoom and 10x hybrid zoom . While the selfie camera is only equipped with one resolution at 32MP.
For matters which are the best, if you view the type of sensor and the completeness of features and technology, then on paper, the P30 Pro is slightly superior to the Galaxy S10 Plus.
5. Excellent features
As part of the latest features, Samsung brings Wireless Powershare , for the ability to charge other devices. In addition, the Galaxy S10 Plus is also equipped with the latest ultrasonic fingerprint reader as well as the first and still maintains the headphone-jack which is now beginning to be abandoned by flagship .
For P30 Pro, the features that are carried are somewhat not ‘improved’ and some of them actually become negative points. One of them included the decision to use the Nano Memory slot instead of MicroSD, on-screen fingerprint technology that is not as developed as the Galaxy S10 Plus’s ultrasonic-censor and the removal of the headphone-jack .
When talking about prices, both of them certainly have a flagship price in general, which is above Rp. 10 million. For the Galaxy S10 Plus, prices are pegged starting at US $ 999 or around Rp14 million for the 8GB RAM / 128GB storage variant. While the P30 Pro, a little more expensive with prices starting at US $ 1128, for the most basic variants, namely 8GB RAM / 128GB of internal storage.
Please note that the prices listed above are European prices. So, if later it enters into the Asian or Indonesian market, it is likely that the price will go down, aka lower. For both, now it can be found and purchased at offline and online stores .
For the latter conclusion, on paper, the Samsung Galaxy S10 Plus wins over the Huawei P30 Pro. The Galaxy S10 Plus excels in almost all categories with a combination of the latest generation of hardware, stunning display technology and a very well-adjusted design in a feature-rich package that makes it one of the best Android smartphones to buy today.
However, P30 is not bad and is still worth buying. It has an attractive design that is packaged in solid specifications and amazing photography technology. The P30 Pro is a fantastic smartphone at a reasonable price.
Thus there were several comparisons to determine which is the best, between Samsung Galaxy S10 Plus and Huawei P30 Pro. How about you? agree with the opinion above? or maybe have another opinion?
